1. Cancer

Cannabinoids, as a part of marijuana, inhibit the growth of cancerous tumor are effectiveness of some prescription drugs. THC can simply "turn off" the gene responsible for the expansion of metastasis in an aggressive form of cancer. Relevant conclusions were made by Spanish scientists led by Dr. Manuel Gusmon.

According to the latter, in some cases, cannabinoids can cope with the development of cancer more effectively than chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

A study published in 1975 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (USA) has shown that THC slows development of lung cancer, breast cancer and leukemia. Similar experiments on the money of the National Institutes of Health in the state of Virginia and involved researchers from the local medical college. Despite the promising results of these studies, they were quickly stopped by order of the US authorities.

Instead, the Department of Health and Human Services has allocated $ 2 million for research that would prove that not cures marijuana in large quantities, but on the contrary, provokes cancer. Money has been wasted: there were no convincing evidence in favor of this theory.

2. Glaucoma

Marijuana helps in the treatment of certain eye diseases. In particular, evidence was recently obtained that THC helps in the treatment of glaucoma. THC contained in cannabis, reduces the pressure in the eyeball. And it helps to cope with the negative consequences of increased pressure on the eye.

3. Epilepsy

Against epilepsy doctors recommend drugs such as clonazepam, phenobarbital, primidone, gabapentin, topiramate, levetiracetam, felbamate and etc. Many drugs have serious side effects: chronic fatigue, loss of appetite. Traditional methods of treatment of epilepsy can lead to psychosis and depression. And some of them contain substances that marijuana has that these side effects are not causes.

The British company GW Pharmaceuticals is already conducting clinical trials of the world's first drug for epilepsy based on cannabis. The British Medical Association has recognized that cannabis can be a means for "complementary therapy".

4. Multiple Sclerosis

In the US, the mass of drugs are sold for its treatment (eg, Gilenya, Fingolimod, Tysabri, and others.), But they all have very serious side effects. And around them constantly scandals arise: government prohibits to sell them almost immediately after these drugs appear on the market.
But Israeli Dr. Pushpa Narayanasvami in 2011 has proved that marijuana is a good prophylactic agent against sclerosis. The same conclusion was reached by scientists, who published their findings in the Journal of Neuroscience.

5. Attention Deficit

Scientists who conducted the test in a variety of different universities, there is evidence that dopamine secreted by smoking marijuana may slow the development of ADD.
