There is nothing like a guilt-free decadent treat when you are watching your weight.

This Chocolate CupCake Recipe is decadent treats that are delicious and truly a dieter’s delight! They are so moist and delicous, you won’t be able to tell they are fat free.

If you are diabetic, you can enjoy sugar free, fat free chocolate cupcakes by substituting 1/3 cup of agave syrup for the sugar.

Agave syrup aka agave nectar is a natural sugar substitute.  It comes from the agave plant. Agave syrup metabolizes slower than sugar and you won’t have the spikes in your blood sugar that you normally will when eating sugar.

To make these fat free chocolate cupcakes with extra moisture and loaded with good nutrition, add 1/2 cup of grated zucchini. This is a great way to get your kids to eat their veggies. Zucchini contains vitamin A and C and is naturally fat free.

Fat Free Chocolate Cupcakes

Each cupcake (made with the original recipe) contains 97 calories, 0 fat, 4.4 grams of protein, .7 grams of fiber and 19 carbs. Each delicious fat free chocolate cupcake is only 2 Weight Watcher points.

You will need:

1 small box Jell-O sugar free, fat free, cook & serve chocolate pudding mix

1 tablespoon unsweetened Hershey’s cocoa

1/2 cup non−fat dry milk powder

1 cup self−rising flour

1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp sugar

4 egg whites

1 pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup applesauce

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Preheat oven to 350⁰. Line the cupcake pan with paper liners.

Combine the dry Jell-O pudding mix, cocoa, dry milk, self-rising flour and sugar in medium mixing bowl. Set mixture aside.

Mix together vanilla, applesauce and baking soda.  Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and salt with an electric mixer until they are stiff. Add the applesauce mixture and combine with the egg whites. Add the flour mixture one cup at a time and mix after each addition. After the last addition, mix for two minutes.

Divide the batter equally between 12 paper−line cupcake wells. Bake at 350° for between 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted to the center of one of the cupcakes comes out clean.

Cool the fat free chocolate cupcakes in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes then remove from pan and continue cooling on the wire rack.

There are lots of variations you can make when baking these cupcakes. Add a couple drops of peppermint oil, or 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint flavoring. This is a great treat during the holiday season.

I like chocolate and fruit. Add 1/4 cup of orange juice concentrate with 1 teaspoon of grated orange rind for a refreshing fat free orange chocolate cupcake in the spring or summer. You could even top the orange chocolate cupcakes with fat free Cool Whip mixed with orange juice concentrate.

Add a tablespoon of fat free caramel flavoring for a fat free chocolate caramel cupcake. Yumm! They sky is the limit in the variations you can make using the basic recipe as your base.
