Ayurvedic Treatment in Summer

Neem (Azadirachta indica):

Neem has numerous effects on skin and hair. It can help to prevent dryness, dandruff and hair fall. It is an Ayurvedic medicine having anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is used for leprosy, eye disorders, bloody nose, intestinal worms, stomach upset, loss of appetite, skin ulcers, diseases of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease), fever, diabetes, gum disease, and liver problems. Premature greying of hair can also be prevented with the application of Neem. It provides shine and nourishment to the hair.

Usage:

We can use neem in many forms like oil, soap, drink and many more.

Neem oil can be massaged onto the scalp and hair. Leave it for 20 minutes so that oil can penetrate deep into the scalp.

Neem paste can also be applied to the scalp. Make a smooth paste by mixing Neem powder with water. Apply this paste to the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes followed by washing with shampoo.

Neem soap is a real treat for te skin, even for healthy skin. Acne, scabies, psoriasis, ringworm, preventing infections and ulcers, skin problems in pets,

Bhringraj (Eclipta prostrate):

This is an ancient Ayurvedic herb called as King of herbs. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It stops hair fall by activating hair follicles and prevents premature greying of hair by maintaining the natural colour of the hair. It helps to rejuvenate the hair and promotes their overall growth. It is found beneficial in improving baldness and reducing dandruff and dryness.

Usage:

Massage Bhringraj oil for 10-15 minutes on the scalp and leave it for 60 minutes. Then wash your hair with shampoo. This will add shine to your hair.

Also, it can be used in the form of powder. Just mix 2-03 tablespoons of powder with water and make a thin paste. Apply to the scalp and leave for 20-30 minutes followed by washing with shampoo.

Reetha (Soapnut):

Reetha is used for centuries by the woman to clean her hair. This is very beneficial in treating various hair problems such as dryness, hair fall and dandruff. It contains saponins which act as good cleansing agent. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties also which helps to prevent dandruff and hair loss.

Usage:

Reetha powder can be mixed with water and soak for around 30 minutes. Then it can be mixed with shikakai or lemon juice. Now, this mixture can be applied to the scalp. Massage for 10-15 minutes and wash your hair with cold water.

Shikakai (Acacia concinna):

Another ancient herb to treat various hair problems is Shikakai. It has antifungal and antimicrobial properties. It has been widely used by women to improve the growth of hair. It contains antioxidants also which provides shine to hair and makes them manageable. It helps to detangle the hair and strengthen the roots.

Usage:

It can be used in the form of shampoo to clean the hair. Mix powdered shikakai with water. Use as a shampoo by pouring onto hair. Massage gently and leave for 5 minutes followed by washing with water.

Ashwagandha (Indian Winter Cherry):

This is an important herb in Ayurveda which helps to control hair loss by balance the body hormones and increases the immunity also. Weak immunity also leads to hair loss. So Ashwagandha helps to boost the immunity. It contains antioxidants which makes scalp healthy and relieves the stress also.

Usage:

Mix Ashwagandha powder with water and make a smooth paste. Apply to the scalp and hair and leave for 30 minutes. Then wash off your hair with shampoo.
