Unblock Region Blocked Apps and Websites

Have you ever wanted to use an app or watch a video desperately but you were denied access or you couldn’t even download it because it was region locked? Do you remember the time you wanted to watch a movie that didn’t release in your country yet but rest of the world was talking about it and all you could do was wait because you couldn’t stream it on Netflix? Well if the answer to the above is yes, you finally have a solution.

Why some apps are region blocked?

There are so many different applications like Spotify, Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, NBC, Amazon instant video and so on which are region locked. They can be accessed only from phones or computers with IP addresses that belong to specific regions. These apps are unavailable at your location because maybe the company didn’t launch it yet in your country officially or your Government has restricted them from doing so. The same goes for some movies, TV shows, and videos – the production company just didn’t release it yet or they were denied the permission to do so. Sometimes maybe the apps are available in your region but specific contents are not due to local censorship standards.

So if you want to access these apps or want to watch those videos, you need to unblock regions.

How to unblock regions:

• VPN or Virtual Private Network: This is basically a bunch of different network computers through which your data travels first before reaching the website or app you wanted to access. Take for example – You are in China but want to watch BBC. Now BBC is region locked. So you get a VPN to make it look like you are from Britain. The only problem is finding a fake IP. But some companies have that covered too. Static IPs can be bought for a price and your location doesn’t change while it gives you access to all region locked services.
• TOR or The Onion Router: With a series of encryption and decryption TOR is able to fake your location pretty easily but you need to have a high-speed internet connection if you are planning to use it to stream Netflix. So this might not be apt for Netflix unblocking.
• Browser extensions: There are various browser extensions available you can use to mask your IP.

Region locked apps and websites are becoming more accessible now with companies all around the world providing VPN services. Look for such service providers online use TOR or simply use browser extensions to access region locked apps and websites.
