Remain focused and maintain a positive attitude while studying:
Focus is very important while you are studying. For example, studying 6 hours with a good focus is more appropriate than studying 12 hours non-stop without complete focus. Remember it is the quality of time spent and not the quantity alone. Hence, take short breaks of five to ten minutes after every one or two hours of serious study. Relax completely when you take a break.
Build up pace by solving JEE level problems with time organization:
It is highly recommended to solve problem of level which are at par with the JEE standards as it will help you in improving your reasoning and analytical ability.
Sample papers give a fair idea about the pattern of questions and help one improve time management:
Pick up some mock tests as well as sample papers to practice and get into the habit of solving problems using your own mind.
Solve the Previous year’s JEE/AIEEE original papers:
It has been observed that many questions are repeated from previous year papers or questions might come with the same pattern. Hence, after preparation with the mock test, you must look at the set of previous year papers.
Focus on your weak areas and improve your concepts:
No one is perfect, thus in place of running away from your weak areas, you must start focusing on those and work on the basic concepts.
Practice meditation to develop inner calm, poise, confidence and power of concentration and don’t overstress yourself:
Five to six hours of sleep every night is a must, especially three-four days before JEE Main 2019 for physical and mental fitness.
Month wise tips to cautious confidence
Study Plan for January:
Your schedule of study must be in accordance with your habits, so don’t bring any drastic change in the style of your studying when you are so close to the exam. JEE Main is an exam of speed; unless you have firm command on calculations, you can’t crack questions within specified period of time, thus exercise calm while calculating.
If you have opted for online mode of examination, practice accordingly so that you may adapt yourself to the mode of examination.
Make notes and design flash-cards for important formula while covering the syllabus. It will help later at the time of revision. You can easily go through the short notes and formulas while solving a problem. It will save time and will make revision easier.
Study Plan for February:
Once January is over, it’s only 2 months to the examination. One month for preparation and another for the revision. Keep your confidence high & start aiming to give a finishing touch to the preparations done till now.
These things are worth notable when you are so close to the examination you have always dreamt of. Don’t panic about the expectations. Keep motivating yourself. Your efforts are important and they never go in vain.
Study Plan for March:
This month wise separation of topics is fruitful only when you stay rigid with your timetable. Try to invest as much time as possible, and try to keep the entire March investing yourself in Board examinations (If have) and revision without losing the rhythm.
Section wise preparation tips
Mathematics:
Topics like Probability, Indefinite integration, Complex numbers, Vectors and 3D and Definite integral require a lot of effort and study.
Also, problems based on Permutation Combination as well as Probability are generally quite conceptual thus, it is important to be well aware of the concepts and techniques to solve the problems, as they are essential topics in Algebra.
Chemistry:
Topics such as Mole concept, Chemical Equilibrium and Electrochemistry require focus, thus stress more on them and practice Organic Chemistry more while improving your hold on topics like Stereochemistry, GOC (General Organic Chemistry) and Functional Group Analysis. Topics like Chemical Bonding and Coordination Chemistry require extra attention as they are highly conceptual.
Improve your focus on conceptual clarity, application skills and awareness of the prescribed syllabus.
Physics:
Scoring topics include Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, etc. Topics like Kinematics and Particle dynamics require extra attention as these topics are important parts of Mechanics and are regularly witnessed in JEE papers.
Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism are the most important topics in terms of the number of questions have been asked in JEE of previous years. Some of the topics which were a part of previous year’s papers are Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism (Equal importance), Modern Physics, Optics, Heat, Thermodynamics, Waves and Sound, Measurement and errors.
