Kitchen Renovation Budget

Having the kitchen of your dreams, whether by customizing your new home, or upgrading your existing one, is truly worth it. The kitchen can be one of the busiest and happiest areas in your home, so making your kitchen a more beautiful and easier place to work in will certainly be worth every penny. Before actual kitchen renovation, it is important to factor in all the different aspects of the process in your budget.

Design

Things like moving gas lines and load-bearing walls are part of your design budget and should be factored in as such. The average cost for design changes comes in at around 4% of the whole cost of Kitchen renovation. You may choose to go with a designer for this aspect of renovation, or a contractor. You will however need to hire an architect if you are moving gas lines or plumbing, or if there are structural changes.

Appliances

While you can retain some of your old kitchen appliances, you may also go for an appliance package that would give you more contemporary and technologically-advanced appliances that would go well with the new design of your kitchen.

Flooring

Flooring is a very important component of renovation, as this can change the whole look of your room. Choose stylish and durable flooring, especially since your kitchen is a place that receives a lot of people and therefore must withstand a lot of wear and tear. In budgeting for this, do not forget to find out if the price per square foot of flooring already includes installation, or does not. An expensive option is wide-plank wood flooring. If you are on a budget, vinyl floors are more practical but still look stunning.
