Innovation in Electric Switch Industry Worldwide

Switch manufacturing has been going on for 100's of years. Amongst 1000's of manufacturers worldwide Siemens, Schneider Electric, Legrand, Makel and Simon Electric are top switch manufacturers. Initially it started with a simple on and off switch with a plastic body that is non conductor. The colors used were mostly with and offwhite.

Over the years due to market change, jump in interior design and decor industry and not to forget several accidents and unfortunate events, market started demaning some innovation in switches as well. So manufacturers started coming out with new idea of modern switches. Some brand came out with colorful switches that suits your walls and matches the interior and other started working on metallic bodies of silver and golden color. 

The idea of fancy designer switches was liked by the buyers and sky rocketed sales of manufacturers actually doing it. Later on some brands started working on switches that are safe for kids which are popularly known as modular switches. Some brand tried their luck in making switches water resistant that was also loved by customers very much. 

Brands also tried a new idea of laminating a switch to keep it safe from whitewashing until its completed and house is ready to move. Customer could later on peel off the lamination. This way it helped to protect switches from paints during whitewashing. There were endless ideas coming one after another and most of these worked really well. The modern switches were more about color matching decor and safety.

Then came the era of Internet and Mobile phones. This new era made mobile phones and electronic items man's best friend. The virtual world now seems like a parallel universe. You cannot live without mobile and internet now. This fastest grwoing technology had made every single change and adapt to its requirement. Who failed to adpt to this new era, was simply kicked out of the market.

Switch manufacturers worldwide realized the need of the time and started speculating new ideas to lure customers. So came the new kind of socket without a switch known as usb switch, to capture huge market by helping customers to charge mobile phones. These switches were sold only b2b initially and was availabe only at Subways, Hotels, Hospitals etc. But as the need was continuously rising, people started getting these installed in their homes.

Now almost all big brands sell USB switches, so as to cater to market needs and fulfill the demands of customers. The hardware part of the switch, which is behind the plastic body has changed to a huge extent. Customers also started buying electronic switches and products which can be controlled by remotes.

Finally in recent times, when internet is controlling everything. People named it Internet of things popularly known as IOT. Almost every electronic brand worldwide started making systems / products controlled by IOT with the help of internet. IOT controlled products give the complete control of yur home and is also known as home automation systems. Using this technology one can controll almost everything in house. Customers can switch on AC before they reach their home, to keep the temperature cool, switch off the tv and other electrical appliance if they forgot to switch it off and what not.

Now the time is running fast, we will surely see some major developments in this field of electricity and switches for many more years to come.
