MACLEOD OF HARRIS TARTAN

The MacLeod of Harris Tartan Kilt gives you a striking way to wear a kilt in your daily life with its modern and casual appearance. This kilt is dark green and midnight blue in color, those two hues composing the background of the kilt. Running through the kilt in the foreground are bright, sunny yellow and cherry red, thin lines that add a pop of color to the look. Though it is a modern kilt, it offers traditional details such as pleated sides that offer greater detail and texture. MacLeod of Harris is also hardware on either side near the hips that allows you to easily attach a sporran. These kilts can be custom made by hip size, waist size, kilt length and more.

The MacLeod of Harris Ancient tartan is a predominantly light blue and green tartan with red, yellow and black. It is generally held that Leod was the younger son of Olaf the Black, one of the last Norse kings of Man and the North Isles. Scholars now doubt Leod’s direct royal origin and he may have been a foster son. Olaf died around 1237, and Leod inherited the Islands of Lewis and Harris, with part of Skye.

Products available in the MacLeod of Harris Ancient tartan range from various weights of wool tartan fabric, tartan cushions, rugs and throws. In our tartan clothing and accessories range we make everything from Mens Tartan Suits, Trousers and Waistcoats to Womens Mini Kilts, Skirts and Jackets, along with tartan scarves, ties and even Tartan Shoes and Boots.
