Electricians’ job is to maintain and install all the power and electrical devices for factories, houses and offices. They maintain wires that the electric flows from it. They install wires for electrical devices, equipments and machines in houses and factories.

They can construct or maintain, although they can do both of them. The construction based on installing wires in houses, offices and schools. The maintenance based on upgrade and fixes the devices and fixes the equipments. The electricians must bring in their mind to the importance of following codes of their country and the code of the national electric when they perform their maintenance.

The using of blueprints is very important. It is a technical device uses in determining the places of panel board, outlets, circuits and load center. After they determine the place that they will enter the wires through it, they connect the components to the circuits, outlets and transformers. They fix all the devices and equipments.

The hand tools that the electricians use are wire strippers, hacksaws, knives, pliers, screwdrivers and conduit. The power tools that the electricians use are harmonics testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and ammeters. They also use another tools to make sure that the components are safe and completed.

The electricians that specialized in the work of maintenance they fix and repair electrical devices when they breakdown. They make sure that the needed fixes are done perfectly. They make sure that everything is going well. If there are any breakdowns, they may renew items like, wire, electronic components, switches, fuses, circuit breakers or electrical devices.

The electricians should examine all the devices from time to time to make sure that they doing well. If there is in problem in the machine, they should fix them.

Electrician’s works on the resident fix the electrical equipments for the owners. They may install new wires at home and fix the old materials. They can install a new circuit to accommodate new appliances, or they can install new lambs and the other electric devices at home. These electricians may do more installation work and construction.

Electricians may work in big factories which have a big works for maintenance and it is very complex. These electricians can fix electronic controllers, generators, transformers and motors that found in equipments and machines. They also give the benefit information for the manger to maintain the machines. When they use electronic devices, they treated as engineers, maintenance workers, repairers and line installers.  

The nature of the work

The electricians may work out and indoors. They may work in factories, homes and businesses. The work may include kneeling for long periods, standing, lifting heavy objects and bending conduit. The electricians may have an injury through the electrical shock, cuts and falls. They have to use the steps that make them safe. Some statistics said that the full-time electricians job have a big rate of injuries and illness. This rate is higher than the national average. If the electricians work outdoors, they may subject to bad weather. The other electricians may work in far distances from their home.
