Those who regularly travel Querrien Quimperlé have certainly crossed paths. Even the winters, on dark, icy mornings; even the rainy autumns, when night falls early, he is leaning on his bike, his forehead lamp and his backpack. And this for sixteen years, in all weather.

"Except when there is a storm," Patrick Marion objected. There, it's dangerous. I take my car. Otherwise, it's all by bike. When it rains, I have a wax, I'm not sugar! "

Patrick Marion has been a community employee for nearly 38 years. From Monday to Friday, he drives almost 40km daily: "An hour in the morning, as much in the evening; it depends on the form, slip the cyclist with a friendly smile. It is good for the health. In any case, it wakes up! "

The largest coast "goes from the crossroads to the house. It goes up hard. Sometimes, I do a little bit of it. "he admits, especially when his day of pruning or gardening was tiring. His last bike, he bought it a decade ago, at Emmaus. The saddle is a little tired. He added a cushion.

A collision in sixteen years

Patrick Marion is also equipped for his safety and that of other road users: "In winter, I have my headlamp. With my reflective vest and reflective tape, I can see well. Now, the days are getting longer. It's getting easier. In sixteen years, he had only a small collision. "While it was raining, a moped did not see me and knocked me down. I had a little pain. Firefighters took me to the hospital. I stayed there for an hour, the time for exams. "

When he is not at work, Patrick Marion tinkers, softly picks up his house and walks around... of course. A few years ago, he pushed to Spain. "But for the return, I put the bike on the train. He also went to Switzerland on his two-wheelers. "I did not do the whole country, only a small part," says the modest.

Recently, he traveled the canal from Nantes to Brest. A trip of a week. To sleep, it was wild camping.

In four years will be the time of retirement for this discreet sportsman. "I will continue to retype my house, and walk around," he smiles.
