National Institute of Design which is situated at Ahmedabad is one of the most popular institutions for design among students. Exam Details of NID

The objective section will test you on you observation skills, lateral thinking, analytical reasoning and reading skills and logical ability. The 30 mark, drawing section will focus on your creativity and out of the box ideas. Once you clear this, you will shortlisted for the MAINS exam. The mains exam will test you solely on your creativity and lateral thinking skills. Some examples could include, Audio Visual Rounds, handling of material (eg: make a see saw out of rubber bands and paper), Observation skills, and sketching ability. The mains is 70% of the entire evaluation while the DAT is 30%. You need to score high in both to assure yourself a seat in NID ahmedabad. The candidates must also have skills like doodling, 3D modeling, body language, creative thinking, portfolio making etc. for cracking the second round easily.

Job Opportunities
As a product designer, candidates will get opportunities to work with companies in the automobiles, appliances, consumer goods etc segments. You can also develop a specialty of your own. For example, it could be user-research, prototyping, user interface, future materials, design for disability and much more. As per the current economic status of our nation, there will be lot more opportunities for the industrial manufacturer.
