An electrical fault or any electrical issue when detected, the grounding setup installed will avert this excess amount of faults to the ground. This diversion of faults is a necessity to avoid any case of electrocution. Highly sensitive and sophisticated machineries need such a setup for its continuous and safe operation.
To establish a secure path for the fault current, you need to connect exposed part and sensitive equipments to the earth mass via a ground electrode that provides zero potential surface around. An accurate and a strategic design that is compliant to relevant standard ensures a safe earthing installation.
Earthing can be system or equipment earthing. It ensures that no excess or overcurrent can make its way into the protected device rather they can be easily dissipated to the ground.
Conventionally, we had pipe earthing and plate earthing which employed GI or Copper as conductors and a combination of salt and charcoal mix as soil enhancing compound to cater the earthing needs. It leads to faster corrosion and quicker end of life.

A much more reliable method you need to try would be Maintenance free earthing technique. All other methods apart from maintenance free technique are outdated since they get wash away within no time and hence there would be an urge to replacement and system renewal. The new chemical earthing technology uses copper bonded steel rod as conductors. Copper bonded rods as the name suggest is simply copper coated over steel rod. But the protection it offers and its life span is proven and is beyond one’s imagination. To be accurate, 250 microns of pure electrolytic copper is coated over high tensile low carbon steel. This is fair enough for phenomenal conductivity and strength. It is proved to have a life of 40+ years. The ordinary soil surrounding the electrode should be such that it retains moisture so that you don’t need to water it frequently. Exothermically welded connection is preferred to make strong and intact connection coming from equipment level. It does not get loosen or degraded. Pit cover is a uniquely designed product added on top of the installation to secure the whole connection. It ensures easy removal for any sort of inspection work.
