How to Get RCMC Registration in India?

RCMC Certificate is a Registration cum Membership Certificate issued by the Export Promotional Councilor Commodity board of India from 1st April of the licensing year to the 31 march of the next 5 year unless specified. This certificate is treated as an evidence for any particular exporter with the council.

Any person willing to apply for an authorization to import/export restricted items or for any benefit or concession under Foreign Trade Policy needs to take RCMC Registration. An Application with the Concerned Export Promotional Council will be filed using the Form ANF 2C. There are two categories under which an exporter can be registered that are Merchant Exporter and Manufacturing Exporter. There are 26 Export Promotional Council and 9 commodities board in India that issues RCMC. These institutions have been authorized by Central Government of India to give permission to the particular exporter. While applying for RCMC, an applicant needs to declare his main line of the business.

Furthermore, the RCMC should be obtained from the Export Promotional Council based on the line of business only.  Every exporter shall furnish quarterly return details of his exports of different commodities to concerned registering authority. In any case, the exporter is registered with the Federation of Indian Exporter Organization then he shall also send the returns to FIEO in the specified format. In future, if the applicant changes ownership, Constitution, name or address then the exporter shall intimate the concerned registering authority within one month of the change. Furthermore, In case of exporters of handicrafts and handlooms products from the state of Jammu and Kashmir is authorized to issue Registration cum Membership Certificate.

Documents required for RCMC Registration in India

  1. Application form where all the details are filed specifying the nature of the business
  2. Certified Copy of the IMC issued by the concerned licensing authority
  3. Copy of the bank certificates
  4. Details whether registration is sought as Manufacturer Exporter, SSI/IEM certificate
  5. A Declaration in relation to the effect on exports and imports in financial year.
  6. Copy of the Memorandum of Association or Article of Association whereas the partnership deed in case of partnership firm.

Penalty for Violation

The Export Promotional Council may cut off or de- registers the exporter for a specified period for violation of conditions of registration.
