Last summer i had my internship in delhi

I stayed in a hotel for a rent of Rs 800 and I, for a fact, know that I wouldn't get that kind of a hotel here for anything less than Rs 1800 per night here. The person who serviced my room spoke the kind of broken English and I asked him to be around because he could understand and reply in English. I'd always make sure that he negotiated with the autowallahs before I got into the auto. If I take an auto somewhere in between, I'd ask the person I'm going to meet to come to the auto and verify the price the autowallah quoted.  So determined :p

Another thing I saw was a notice on the wall by the police. If the hotel management noticed anyone who has been up late night or all night and goes out in the morning too, the police has to be notified about it. Something I can't imagine happening here or have seen yet.

Asked for a cup of coffee. Got a glass tumbler that was as tall as a beer mug and the coffee was full right up to the brim.

The only food I could comfortably eat was chappati/dhal. The rest of the food was too bland and was not as spicy as us Tamils, especially the ones with parents from south TN, would like to eat. A hotel which rents room for Rs 800 had American chop suey on the menu and it was nice too.

I saw lot of foreigners who perhaps hadn't bathed for like eternity, with hair clumped with dirt, smoking something and riding a rickshaw (the area was Paharganj).

This is the first time I had ventured anywhere north. I smoke the Gold Flakes kings size cigarette and we're used to calling it Kings here. Asked for Kings and the guy said he doesn't have that cig. Pointed to the cig and told him that was it. Learnt that you have to ask Gold Flake bada/chota.

I've never been to a mental asylum, but I think the lawyer's chamber in Patiala House was as close as it got, especially during lunch time. Seriously, Delhi, come to Chennai and Madurai and see our High Courts and their lawyers' chamber. #chestbeating

I stroll a lot on my own aimlessly, walking tens of kilometers. On a stroll in New Delhi, as a tier two city kid, couldn't stop wondering why the eff in this world would roads need to be so wide. And a day later, experienced the legendary Delhi traffic. (Can't let ourselves down. Our roads are now that wide too).

I went to Delhi by flight. The return was a train journey back to Chennai. I believe it was in Rajasthan or somewhere (I don't know where exactly), there was a long halt.
