TweetDeck iPhone app

Twitter is quite possibly the greatest sensation of this decade. Its consistent rise since its launch in 2006 shows no signs of slowing down. After reaching hundreds of millions of users, Twitter started the mobile craze: that?s right, socialization on the go. There are currently hundreds of different applications which you can install on numerous mobile devices, just so you can keep track of your friends? tweets. We?re going to look at one in particular, one of the most wide spread Twitter apps in the world: TweetDeck, on one of the most wide spread mobile devices: the iPhone.

TweetDeck for iPhone was launched not long ago, when lots of other Twitter applications were already developed. But, nonetheless, it became as loved and as used as the main version of the program.

The main advantage that TweetDeck has over its competitors is that it has great quality / price ratio. Well, that doesn?t seem quite right, as it?s free. That?s right, for a free app TweetDeck offers some of the very best features you can find.

With TweetDeck, as you might already know, you can fully customize several different columns. The default setting is four columns, which are divided like so: the first column is the general timeline, where you can see all the updates from all the users that you currently follow. The second column is reserved for tweets that mention you (those that begin with @), and the third column is the one where you can see all direct messages that are addressed to you.  The fourth column, by default, is reserved for the Facebook timeline. That?s right, in addition to Twitter, you can check your friends? statuses on Facebook, and even update your own.All the columns update periodically, and when they do you can easily spot how many messages you have in what column.

When you update your status, you get to choose where you want it to appear: either Twitter, Facebook, or even both. Then, you have a lot of different options for your messages: add a ?geo tag?, allowing everyone to see where you?re at; check your friends? list, to see their usernames and mention them easier; shorten your link, so that you can fit inside the 450 word limit easier; either add a photo from your library or take a photo, and include it in your message.

TweetDeck is fully customizable, so you can choose every aspect to fit your style perfectly. You can modify columns, refresh time, your accounts, the theme, your favorite picture service, everything to the very last detail.

Before you go, there?s one more thing: as good as TweetDeck sounds, it does have one disadvantage, at least on the devices that I?ve tested: when on Wi-Fi it acts perfectly, but when you try and access it using your 3G network, it tends to freeze up.
