The Difference between the classic Medicare and the Medicare Advantage Plan 2019

Medicare Advantage Plan 2019 actually has the same offering with that of the old Medicare.  The only difference is that the member can add additional services and it is optional. 

The goal of Medicare Advantage Plan 2019 is to provide health care services with more insurance choices with a more comprehensive benefit.  Such advantage plan also aims to implement some cost-saving measures especially in those privately managed care plans.

The law also requires that Medicare Advantage Plan 2019 be offered at a minimum which can be availed through private insurance companies approved by the Medicare.  The good thing about these privately managed HMOs is that, they can negotiate directly with doctors, hospitals and networks to control well the health care costs.

Different Forms of Medicare Advantage Plans 2019

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) Plan has their own network of doctors, hospitals, and health provider that have agreed to accept payment in any specific level and the kind of services they provide. 

Preferred Provider Organization is also another form of Medicare Advantage Plan.  The organization has contract with medical providers with medical providers that belong to the network of the said plan.  But you can also request doctors and other medical providers outside of the network with additional cost.

Private Fee For Service Plan is a type of Medicare advantage Plan offered by the private insurance company.  Unlike the classic Medicare plan, PFFS plans determine how much it will pay doctors, other health care providers, hospitals, and how much you must pay when you get care.

Another additional benefit brought by Medicare Advantage Plan 2019 is that the Advantage plans are able to offer additional benefits not available to people enrolled in the classic Medicare and this includes Prescription Drugs, Routine Vision Care such as eyeglasses and contact lenses, Annual Dental Care, Hearing Care as well as discounted gym membership and other wellness programs.
