Emotions are the vital part of our life; it directs our relationships with others as well as with ourselves.  Emotions give us directions. Out of all emotions, anger, fear and sadness are the three most sensitive emotions, if it exceeds limits, these emotions can lead to catastrophe.

For many years there has been varied researchs in the field of emotions.

When trapped in the dilemma of emotions or “negative” emotions — anger, sadness, fear or anxiety,  it becomes difficult to manage the breathing pattern. Like when we are sad, we sigh, we are angry, we breathe quickly. In fear our breathing turns shallow and from the top of the lungs.

Basic elemental emotions can be controlled through deep breathing. Deep breathing is  an effective medicine for negative emotions like anxiety, fear and anger.

Why are we  told to do  “deep breathing” when we cry?

When we cry, we often gulp air in our upper chest. It is not viable to cry and to do deep breathing at the same time. Deep breathing loosens the hold of feeling.  When we inhale deep into our belly, our nervous system concentrates on that pattern and forgets momentarily to produce tears, and this eases the pain. Crying makes the heart beat faster, the blood circulation is disturbed, deep breathing can help maintaining it as well, by regulating the flow of blood in the process of inhalation and exhalation.

We all own varied styles of breathing. We can notice variation in speed, depth, as well as lengths. Some take even and long pauses while others take shorter lapse in between the breaths.

Shallow breathing is related to fear. Deep breathing on the contrary accompanies confidence. Deep breathing keeps you calm and composed. It keeps you prepare for the various challenges life throws at you.
