Chicken Samosas: The Fusion Variant To Have With Family

Ingredients for Chicken Samosas:

  • 2 tablespoon refined oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • salt as required
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 8 filo pastry
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 inch minced ginger
  • 2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 500 gm ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 cup vegetable oil

How to prepare Chicken Samosas:

Step 1) Warm oil in deep non-stick skillet set on the moderate heat. Drop cumin seeds, sizzle them for around thirty seconds. Drop ginger, garlic & onions, saute it for five minutes or till it lightly browned.

Step 2) Drop salt & curry powder, cook for thirty seconds. Include ground chicken & saute it for eight to ten minutes till chicken is dry & cooked completely, stir it occasionally & breaking up lumps.

Step 3) Fold in lemon juice & fresh coriander. Cool mixture in the fridge till it required. Chicken mixture could be made up to two days ahead of the time.

Step 4) Preheat oven to 400F. Line baking tray with the parchment paper.

Step 5) Working with a sheet of filo pastry at a time (keep remainder closed with damp towel or plastic wrap), spray pastry lightly with the cooking spray.

Step 6) Top it with another sheet of pastry & spray one more time. Cut pastry in four long strips. Spoon one heaping teaspoon of chicken mix on bottom edge of the pastry strip. Fold end of dough on chicken to make a triangle.

Step 7) Keep folding this way for the complete length of the pastry strip. Put, seam-side down, on the baking sheet, spray top lightly with cooking spray.

Step 8) Repeat it with rest chicken mixture & filo sheets.

Step 9) Now, bake samosas for 12-15 minutes.
