Primary school (6 - 12 years old)
Primary education in Singapore is free. Parents pay only $ 13 a month for school needs. As for the educational process, there are three levels of knowledge. First, the fundamental stage: for 4 years, children learn English, their native language (Chinese, Malay or Tamil). Necessarily mathematics for the development of logical thinking, plus the whole school curriculum includes ethics, artistic work, music and physical education. The next two years there is a special training. To what disciplines does the child have more traction - so the transfer exams at secondary school are formed. After passing the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) exam, the student’s further path is laid.

High School (12 - 17 years old)
According to the results of the examinations, children enter secondary schools, where education takes place on special courses. The future of the student depends on the exams in elementary school. The following courses exist:

Special. Includes in-depth study of the native language, the rest of the training is similar to the express course.
Standard. Here, students are engaged in a thorough study of technical subjects, when they learn, for example, accounting in the academic field. At the standard courses, after their completion, it was decided to pass an exam for the N-level, but in 2004, the Singapore Ministry of Education decided to provide an opportunity for some students to try to get the O-level, without a preliminary session on the N-level.

Express. The term of study is 4 years and the exam for the right to receive an O-level, that is, an ordinary (ordinary, mediocre). Superficial study of a mixture of Creole, English and native language for the inhabitants of the country.

As you know, most of the tasks at the university prefer to be given in the form of essays, reviews, articles, etc. Singapore universities are no exception. EduBirdie tool, quite popular in America and Europe, is also popular in the far tropical east so many students offer their academic papers there.
Normal academic. It differs from others in the period of study of 5 years.
Preprofessional This course does not imply the possibility of obtaining an Advanced-Level certificate and participation in a special program for the integration of training. At this level, students have the right to choose six to ten subjects, followed by an exam for the Ordinary-level, but this list must include mathematics, one natural and humanitarian subject, and languages - native and English.
After high school, graduates take the Singaporean GCE 'O' Level exams and others.

As for the grading system, the lower the score of the student, the higher his rating: A1 / A2 (excellent), B3 / B4 (good), C5 / C6 (satisfactory), D7 (minimum score for entering the subject), E8 / F9 ( unsatisfactory).

Meritocracy — a system in which a person’s position in society is determined by his abilities and merit, and not his origin — is the central principle of education in Singapore.

Education in Singapore is quite pragmatic and is based on a mixture of Eastern and Western cultures. Teaching is conducted in a discussion format. Examinations are required to determine the level of training of specialists, so they are given special attention.

Higher education (17 years - above)
Universities attracting a lot of attention and the flow of foreign students began to form only at the beginning of the 20th century, many of them are considered to be very “young” by world standards. And thanks to its technical focus - more advanced.

Types of universities in Singapore:

Polytechnics teach the basics and skills of work. Knowledge comes through practice. After graduation, students receive diplomas of several degrees.
Technical University. Students learn the basics of applied sciences, business nuances, design creativity, the media, electrical engineering and electronics, information and communication technologies, engineering and hotel management. You can study here at the hospital and in absentia, and also carry out an internship.
At independent universities, you can after the specialized courses to obtain the appropriate diploma or degree. Nobody regulates such structures and does not finance, therefore, those who wish should personally learn about the learning process.
In national, state institutions and private institutions you can get a bachelor's and master's degree in all possible areas of knowledge.

Most enterprises are interested in graduates from Singapore universities, so they often pay for prospective students. In addition, there is a free education system. The government has developed special programs that are designed for low-income families or school graduates who have undergone pre-vocational training, as well as graduated schools with honors. These applicants are entitled to rely on free education. Also, students who are covered by the FAS (Financial Assistance System) program, but who previously paid for their studies, may be exempted from further tuition fees.
