Activation Procedure of New Jio SIM for Non Samsung & LYF mobile users

We are writing this post to those who managed to get JIO SIM using Non-JIO Phones like Redmi Note 3, One Plus 2, and Moto G3 Users.

If you don’t have a JIO SIM then you can use your own existing mobile device to generate a Bar Code and then go to the Reliance Digital Stores to get the new JIO SIM.

As we already know the JIO SIMs will only work on the Device from which you generated the Bar Code.

How to activate JIO SIM?

• First install all JIO Apps including JioJoin app using WIFI or Mobile Data.
• Put your SIM in the phone, wait for the SMS confirmation “Your Phone is ready for Tele-Verification.” It takes a maximum time of 48 hours and a minimum of 2 hours. If you are using a dual SIM phone then always keep the JIO SIM in slot 1 only.
• Nowopen JioJoin App which is already installed and accept Permissions while installing. It will automaticallyverify your SIM. (Make Sure JIO Mobile Data is on)
• Next make a Call to ‘1977’ using JioJoin App with Mobile Data onas it is a VoLTE Calling (Internet Calling).
• Lastly Tele-verify your SIM. You will Get Internet Settings via SMS and Some Subscription Plan SMS within 5 Minutes.

All the calls made in the JIO SIM are via Internet so first test your internet by either downloading or calling. Don’t worry you don’t need an internet to receive the calls.

Open your MyJio App andlogon via Mobile Number.You can see the available 2 GB Data and 100 Minute Calls initially. Don’t mind the numbers you will Get Unlimited soon after you consume them.

Remember that the JIO SIMs don’t work on Non 4G Devices. All youneed is a 4G Device which may or may not Support VoLTE. On 4G supported devices you will get better quality compared to no 4G devices. Actually Jio also launched a new generation device called as Jiofi. Jiofi user can change jiofi ip address by login jiofi.local.html/index.htm or 192.168.1.1. We will provide some basic settings on Jiofi are as follows.

How to Access Storage Slot (Slot) in jiofi.local.html ?

• First of all, insert micro sd card in given slot of the Jiofi router.
• You have to create your storage account and make your username and password.
• By creating username and password, you will be allowed to access the SDcard information in your connected devices with the jiofi dongle.

• You can assess the storage slot by taping on the wifi disk button where you have to enter your user name and password .
• By following all this steps, you can upload your files and document in your pc/laptop with the help of jiofi storage account.

How to Reset Jiofi?

For resetting your jiofi router, you have to turn on the Jiofi router so that you can press the reset button or WPS button which is available on the left side of the dongle. For pressing the reset button, you have to use any needle or pen and keep it hold on the button for 15-20 seconds which will help you in resetting your jiofi device.  After few seconds, all lights will start blinking which signifies the sign of reset. When blinking get turn off then your device is successfully reset.

Now you just have to connect your Pc/Laptop with the jiofi network so that you can access the http://jiofi.local.html page. By following all those configuration steps again so that you can create a fresh configuration because previous configuration details may get vanishes.
