Overcome Dilemma in staying Healthy and Fit

In a lighter vein, the interrelated entities of health and fitness could be depicted in the context of what a commoner in India seeking a voter’s ID card experiences these days. When he applies for it, the authorities ask him to produce an Aadhaar card as evidence. And for an Aadhaar card, the Election Commission’s voter card is a must as proof of residence! Thus the Catch-22 situation persists.

Similarly, physical fitness depends on health and to be healthy one must be fit. Fitness comes through proper exercises or recreational sporting events. On this count, nutritious food and ample sleep also definitely matter to remain healthy. As for sports and physical exercises, the limited or diminishing number of playgrounds, open spaces and parks are stumbling blocks. To these woes, one may also add the fast paced present day lifestyle and the time spent in commuting to the place of work and back.

In such a scenario, one need not lose heart since a well-equipped neighbourhood gymnasium fills the vacuum. Scheduled visits to a gym for workouts under the watchful eyes of a qualified trainer can work wonders. And in the absence of a gym, one need not lose heart since there are numerous fitness aids and assorted systems for homes. To cite an instance, one can choose from a wide range of branded fitness accessories supplied by companies like the New Delhi headquartered Cardio Fitness.

Among these is a system named the cross trainer equipment, also known as X-trainer. It is somewhat like a treadmill but with several additional features including safety aspects. An X-trainer is stationary and it is regarded as a suitable fitness aid for programmed and simulated exercises like walking, jogging and even stair climbing with least possible exertion on the joints of the limbs.

Even a person who apprehends orthopaedic related pain while exercising can confidently and safely perform workouts on this. Based on the positioning of the motor, the X-trainers were initially classified as ‘rear drive’ and ‘front drive’. Certain innovative changes in their design and development have resulted in the current ‘centre drive’ types. By and large, the various elliptical trainers are ‘exerciser-friendly’, enabling the user to preset the angle, resistance and stride length including the choice of reverse or forward direction drive.

Reportedly, these elliptical cross trainers are available in a different series and models for a non-impact cardiovascular workout. This may vary from light to high intensity based on the speed of the exercise and the resistance preference set by the user. Some of other benefits that certain models offer are integrated consoles and attachable TVs for the users to enjoy their favourite programmes, music and video shows while exercising. Thus the workouts are done in a motivational as well as entertaining manner and these consoles can be upgraded in tune with the technological trends.

On completion of the workouts, a refreshing hot water bath further rejuvenates the entire body and mind. Apart from opening and cleaning the pores on the skin, hot water has healing qualities and it improves as well as regulates the blood pressure. Now-a-days, one can have this system available in various brands at home too. Incidentally, the company Cardio Fitness is also the outlet for Beachcomber hot tub in India. Hence there is no need to hunt for a spa.
