  4. Go to the Look In drop-down menu box and then look for the location of the back-up file.
  5. Type the name of the file in the File Name field. You will automatically get the Save as Type with the QuickBooks Files entry.
  6. Once done click on Save

To recover data use Auto Data Recovery Option

After the file is created the Auto Data Recovery starts assessing the file. Once it finds the file is not corrupted or damaged, it saves a copy of it as a backup in the ADR folder. As long as the QuickBooks application is open, every 12 hours ADR takes backup of your file. The older version of the file is saved as ‘old’. Only one file is maintained and you are given two back-up copies: a file that is updated till 12 hours ago and another that updated until 24 hours ago. The backup files are meant for QB Support providers who assist in restoring your files.
