Ghetto Clown Show

Plot

 In the show, “Ghetto Klown” tells a story involving Leguizamo’s grandfather who has just discovered Leguizamo‘s dream of becoming an entertainer and his advice to him is that “it is only the white Latinos who make it to the entertainment in Telemundo .“ He tells him to avoid the limelight and instead walk under the shades of the street. In this show, Leguizamo shares his view about the Latino’s in present day media both in the Spanish Language and Hollywood intentions.

 Conflict/problem

 Leguizamo presents the challenges he faced in his early years in blue-collar Queens and how writing and acting were his salvation. His challenges include making it out of his career with stars such as Patrick Swayze and Al Pacino. He also tells us of his marriage and love life.

 How can one survive beyond self-doubt and prove the doubters wrong and finally gaining happiness?

Leguizamo reveals to us the challenges he faced in his early movie days which was an experience he describes as an experience similar to the set of Brian Palma “Casualties of War” where he got a slap in the face over various takes. Also in his first major pallor on major role, he was mocked like the case of “Miami Vice,” TV show

Answers to the dramatic question

            Going beyond expectation is the way to achieve finally personal success. Leguizamo‘s relatives told him to stay out of the limelight, his first job in writing and play was also about with mockery and laughter. But his will to succeed makes him be the successful actor/producer that he is today. He went beyond the yelling from his fellow veteran actor who called him to stop behaving in a clownish manner.

Denouncement

I learn a lot from the struggles of Leguizamo and the struggles he went through to become a successful actor he is today. I believe that personal struggle and goals are more rewarding than hearing criticism from other people.
