Effective Ways to Buy Shorts that Feel & Look Great

Shorts are comfortable. But they can be a bit of a struggle to fit. The wrong pair could make you look stumpy or give your OTD a sloppy look. But great shorts do exist. They’re out there. You just need to recognize them.

If you’re ready to get down to the business of finding shorts that feel and look great, read on.

Go for the middle ground

If you’re shopping for linksoul shortsand not quite sure what length is right for you, go for the middle ground. Pick options that run to the middle of your thigh. These shorts are universally flattering, Bustle says, which makes them a popular go-to option. That way, you won’t end up with a pair that’s too short or too long for you.

Pick shorter shorts

If you're a bit on the petite side and you want to give yourself more height, then you can’t go wrong with a pair of short shorts. Wear it with heels and you’ll make your legs look longer. Just make sure you keep your rear covered. It will be uncomfortable, otherwise.

Find a balance

Try not to pick a pair that’s too short and too tight all at once. Remember, finding a balance in your wardrobe is key. If you’ve got any cellulite you want to hide, then opt for body-skimming shorts.

Go dark

The basics in color scheme apply: if you don’t want to draw too much attention to your rear, pick out dark colors. If you to highlight your behind, then light colors will do wonders.

Look for the right cut

Again, if you want to find shorts that elongate your legs, shop for linksoul shorts that are cut at a slight angle, with the hem at the outer thigh higher than the one at your inner thigh. This will do the trick, as it draws the eye to your outer hip, creating the illusion of longer pins, the Refinery29 says.

Keep them slim

It’s quite easy for the wrong shorts to make you look sloppy. That’s why one of the must-know guidelines for shorts includes keeping to slim pairs. If you go for baggy ones, they might fit your seat but they will never flatter your figure, at least in the way you want. If you want to upgrade your shorts, start ditching the long and baggy pairs you’ve got in your closet.

Consider the material

What kind of materials work with your look and body best? If you like to keep around a few workhorse pairs for daily wear, then go for denim options. If you want shorts with the summer treatment, then go for drawstring shorts that aren’t clingy but cinch at the waist, which should give extra volume to your rear. Linen can also be a good choice if you want something flowy and womanly. Just one drawback, though: linen shorts tend to wrinkle up much more easily and they could appear a lot shorter on your body.

Get the right pair of shorts. Put these tips to good use the next time you shop for a pair.
