Retro is in! Funky, playful, charming and utilizing colors and elements that cannot be found anywhere else. These retro tips are sure to get you moving and redesign your kitchen and bathroom today. Playful nostalgic throwbacks with fun color combinations and maybe a bit of checkered patterns come together to make the perfect retro look.

The retro kitchen remodeling tips-

The Retro colors
The popular retro inspired colors come in combinations of red and black, yellow and aqua or green and yellow. The retro kitchens and bathrooms are known for the crisp colors. Choose wisely! For the foundation if you are not quite able to settle on the color, the classic black and white gets the job done for a foundation of the space.

Themes
Before laying out a retro kitchen or bathroom choose an attire from the 50s or 60s. These maybe strawberries, diner duds or cherries. Pick a shade first and settle on the theme. If you are more bent towards the playful nature of the retro diner styles using red as the main color in the theme can create beautiful contrast for the stark neutrals.

Appliances
Hunt for the best pieces if you can afford appliances that fit into the retro look. These vintage pieces are available in plenty of outlets. Find colorful appliances from refrigerators to ovens. Big pieces actually bring the look and feel of the retro period. Do not go with the modern appliances. Instead look for appliances that have a vintage appeal.

The mixers and bread boxes should be visibly seen in the kitchen! Even if they are the appliance you use daily, they should be a part of the theme.

Checkered Tile
Checkered tiles are a must when remodeling kitchen and bathrooms in the retro style. Black and white is the classic but for something a little bolder red and white is timeless.

Polka dots
Polka dots enhance the funky and fun side a little more. Linens with polka dots draws the retro personality out.

Funky hardware
From knobs to drawers, choose the accessories that fit in the style. Every tiny element and detail matters. Clocks, timers, scales and everything antique adds a charming retro look.

Breakfast counters
Breakfast bars evoke the diner style we all love. The trick is to grab this opportunity to decorate this space and add our own unique touches.

Stainless steel lights
When you have to choose the fixtures for a retro kitchen, stainless steel lights are the best options. This especially holds good when you have pendants over the breakfast bar.

Padded stools
Make the seating area a part of your décor. Use padded stools instead of the usual wooden seats. As they are quite modern, they would not go well with the retro theme.

The retro bathroom remodeling tips-

  1. There is absolutely no necessity to redo the entire bathroom. Bright blue colors can be used to create a retro vintage look. Even if there is a lot of blue it would work perfectly. More color options aren’t out of the question as well.  From black white tile to pedestal sink and turquoise walls there are a lot of options to choose from. If you are not quite a fan of the black and white tile, offset the monochromatic look by painting a fresh quote of other colors. White colors can save the day in the form of towels and walls. A row of matching towels tones down the hues if there is a lot of only one color.
  2. You can also use a colorful carpet to brighten up the heavy tile work of the bathroom floor.
  3. Cologne bottles can elevate the old-school look paired with pastel tiles.
  4. The whiter it is, the better it is. If have retro bathware in whatever color, you are in luck.

The trend is quite simple when it comes to bathroom remodeling. The simpler everything is in the room, the better it is.

I believe you must have now had a better idea about kitchen and bathroom remodeling the retro way. Not at all complex and just tricky is what retro is all about. Afterall, we already have seen all about retro in the early 60s.
