Injury Report: Colts missing several key play

ers as matchup with the Eagles looms There are some pretty unnerving names on the Colts’ injury report as we near the end of the week heading into the toughest matchup in this young football season for the Colts. The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will have their starting quarterback Carson Wentz back on Sunday www.authenticsindianapoliscolts.com , and the Colts could be a bit thin due to injuries. So far this week, Anthony Castonzo (hamstring), Jack Doyle (hip), T.Y. Hilton (quadriceps), Marlon Mack (hamstring), Quincy Wilson (concussion), Hassan Ridgeway (calf), and Denico Autry (ankle) haven’t practiced. Denzelle Good (knee/wrist) has been limited and Chris Milton (concussion) and Clayton Geathers (knee/elbow) were fully back in action today.Hilton told Good Morning Football that his injury was not a big deal saying:If Hilton says he is good, it is usually safe to believe him. He rarely misses time and I’d expect him to play Indianapolis Colts T-Shirt , although him missing time does make me a bit uncomfortable.More concerning however, is the potential loss of someone like Jack Doyle. While the tight end group is a strength, this is the toughest defensive line the Colts have faced yet, and Doyle played a big role in the blocking help that made last week’s victory possible. His loss in both blocking and the passing game are tough to replace. Anthony Castonzo also appears to be likely to miss more time, having aggravated his hamstring injury. Based on the way he was moving against Washington, Marlon Mack might have done the same. Neither of these guys are a huge concern, Castonzo because it is not entirely a surprise and the offensive line has done really well against quality defenses so far. Mack because Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines have been valuable contributors to this point already. Regardless, the Colts facing perhaps the toughest opponent on their schedule without a bunch of their key players is definitely less than ideal.ColColts have gotten some tough news. Rookie wide receiver Deon Cain suffered a torn ACL and his season is over. This is obviously devastating news for Cain, who has truly been a bright spot in training camp and had a chance to earn a significant role in a receiver group that doesn’t have a ton of established playmakers. It isn’t immediately clear when in the game he sustained the injury. Cain was quickly gaining hype around the Colts organization as a guy who could be a dynamic playmaker and a steal in the 6th round, with many assigning him a 2nd or 3rd round grade in the lead up to the draft. His athleticism and tendency toward highlight reel catches in practice, as well as his genial personality has quickly endeared him to fans and coaches alike. The loss of Cain likely opens a door for another of the bubble receivers like K.J. Brent, Zach Pascal, or Kasen Williams to move into a roster spot and be a part of the Colts passing game in a more significant way. It also means more pressure on Chester Rogers and Ryan Grant to succeed. Additionally, there is a pretty good chance Chris Ballard will be on the hunt for another reliable receiving threat to add through free agency. It is a lousy situation, and hopefully Cain recovers quickly and is back and ready to go to work to start the 2019 season.
