Cricket World Cup is organized by International Cricket Council (ICC) in every four years. The upcoming cricket world cup tournament will be organized in England in from 30 May 2019 to 15 July 2019.

Billions of Cricket fans and cricket lovers all over the world are enthusiastically waiting for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The biggest question as far as team India is concerned is that should former captain MS Dhoni be part of India’s Squad for the World Cup 2019.

For the first time ever, MS Dhoni is has been omitted from the three-match Twenty20 International series against the Windies and Australia.

Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian Captain feels that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is must for the 2019 ODI World Cup. Current Indian Captain Virat Kohli will get benefits of having the experienced wicket-keeper batsman in his side.

In 2018, Dhoni has scored just 252 runs from 12 innings at an average of 25 and a strike-rate of 68.10. But, Gavaskar insisted on Dhoni's experience of having led Indian side and achieving multiple victories in World Cup in the past.

India won World Cup for two times in the year 1983 and 2011. India had also been the Runner Up for one time in the year 2003 after losing from the five-time champions Australia.

Sunil Gavaskar said Virat needs Dhoni and there is no doubt about it. In 50 overs where there is that much more time, that's when MSD comes into play. Dhoni makes those small field adjustments telling the bowlers where to bowl and what to bowl. It's a huge plus for Virat Kohli.

Sunil Gavaskar said that while Virat Kohli still has a support in the 20-over game but MS Dhoni's presence in the side will be vital. He said, "MSD is an absolute must for the 2019 World Cup,".

Talking about Rohit Sharma, Sunil Gavaskar believes that the way Rohit Sharma has come to the party as a captain, as a thinker, as a planner. He has been brilliant. He said,

"With Rohit coming in and also Ajinkya Rahane, Virat has a couple more shoulders to lean on. Therefore, I think this [is a] move to have MS Dhoni take a break from T20I cricket."
