Wooden kitchen items

Due to hot water and steam, the coating will begin to crack and eventually will "peel off". Moreover, when dried under air pressure, the surface becomes cracked and rough.

Porcelain items

Their paintings and gilded decorative elements do not sustain hot water and fade over time. That is why you'd better hand wash expensive sets or vintage grandmother's porcelain. Such a restriction does not apply to modern white porcelain, which is suitable for daily use.

Aluminum items

This metal oxidizes under the influence of detergents, which causes a black coating on its surface. The chances of washing away such a "trouble" from your crockery are equal to zero. The only way to save it is to clean off the coating with sandpaper carefully. 

Cast iron products

The dishes and items made of this material are very durable and can serve for many years if used carefully. The hardening technology guarantees it. Still, the detergents used for Bosch dishwashers not only reduce the strength of the products. They provoke their rusting as well.

Kitchen knives

A sharp knife may damage the dishwasher if placed incorrectly. Anyway, the high temperature blunts the blade quickly and makes it dull.

Fine crystal

The products made of such a fragile material become cloudy due to the detergents used. If cleaned in the Bosch dishwasher, the surface of the crystal can get cracks and chips. The only exception is the appliance providing a special program for crystal items.

The absolute taboo for the dishwasher is electrical goods. They will unlikely work after the exposure to hot steam and drying. So electric kettles, mixers, and coffee grinders should only be hand washed.
