OVERWATCH does not stop being a "shooter" and it is clear that we will have to improve our aim to increase our performance, however, there are different roles within the game, and within them several functions. The first of all is ATTACK , they are heroes that are characterized as the main sources of damage to your computer. In this way we have very mobile characters that focus on flanking to end the weakest characters of the enemy team and characters with a lot of damage maintained that can harass the first rival ranks.
We continue with DEFENSA , its role is characterized by being characters with zone control with traps, walls, sentinel turrets ... We can differentiate two types, on the one hand we have those who are dedicated to control a specific area with skills that hinder or stop the opposite , and by other characters that control the area through a large amount of fire or additional element in addition to their character.
The role of TANK is defined by being the core of the team, who can cover the other teammates and advance in the front line to conquer the different objectives and gain ground to the opponent. There are two types of tanks mainly, those that support and cover the team and are more oriented to the cooperative game and those that can be played individually and have resources to not depend on a hero type support.
And finally the SUPPORT , key role in the maintenance of your team through individual or group cures, and potency of damage and / or resistance of your colleagues. CONTROL THE MAPS One of the strengths of OVERWATCH is that each game is different , not only for the mechanics, but also for the game system that changes in each of these maps. They are classified in the following ways:
Assault: The objective of the attacking team is to capture specific zones, while the defending team's goal is to keep them under their control until time runs out.
Escort: The objective of the attacking team is to move the explosive charge to a delivery point. The defending team must prevent the progress of the others until the time runs out.
Control: Two teams struggle to capture and maintain a single objective at a time, until they reach 100% domination of the area.
Assault and Escort: this map combines two modes, at first the Assault mode and on conquering it, the second part will start being Escort mode.
Precisely as OVERWATCH offers us a great variety of content, we must adapt to it. Forget to take only one hero and climb with him, as there are games that depend on the map, the configuration of the team itself and the opponent and even the Metagame (champions and strongest team configuration). In addition, there are no predefined fixed positions before entering a game and therefore we will not always play our favorite hero if we want to progress.
One of the fundamentals of OVERWATCH is to know how to combine the different variables that we find in the best possible way to carry out a good team game and reach victory. For this, it is always preferable to be able to communicate well , that is, to have a group of friends with whom we can play and improve our team game so that, in the future, we can compete in a professional manner. Even if being a professional is not our goal, the game changes radically as a team, acquires a totally different dynamic than if we play alone and enjoy much more with more showy plays.
