Different types of Carpet Cleaning Methods:
Steam Carpet Cleaning or Hot Water Extraction Cleaning – Steam carpet cleaning is a method in which high pressured hot water is being used to toss the carpet fiber and dissolve the dirt present in the carpet. This method involves application of cleaning agent on stained surface, tossing of the carpet with brush and followed by rinsing. After the cleaning agent gets settled in the carpet for a short duration the carpet gets washed using a carpet cleaning equipment for rinsing the cleaning agent used thoroughly. After the rinsing work is done the carpet is dried in room temperature or air conditioned temperature. The entire process takes about 2 hours to clean and at least 4 hours to dry.
Carpet Shampooing – Until the encapsulation technology was introduced in 1970s carpet shampooing was the most popular method used for cleaning carpets. Shampooing is a great carpet cleaning process but it has a disadvantage that cannot be ignored and that is it leaves behind high amount of wet foam residues within the carpet which takes long time to dry and becomes sticky once dried! This in turn attracts more dirt if not taken care properly and because of these reasons this method is less popular than the others.
Foam Encapsulation–This method of carpet cleaning makes use of synthetic detergents as a base that crystallizes into powder form when dried. The loosened dirt particles present in the carpet fiber get encapsulated into powder when the cleaning foam applied dries and finally the powdered dirt is vacuumed or brushed as the foam dries after the cleaning process. This method requires less water consumption as compared to carpet shampooing and another benefit that makes it a hit among people is that in this method environment friendly products are used which leaves less chemical residue after cleaning.
Bonnet Cleaning–In this carpet cleaning method the top part of the carpet fiber is being cleaned using a heavy duty motorized machine with a spinning pad which has been immersed with cleaning solution to absorb dirt from the surface of the carpet. Such a method is mostly popular in hotels as it gives a quick fix solution to clean carpet without much moisture which is highly essential for such public places. But this method is not that effective for home carpet cleaning as the chemical residues accumulate in the carpet due to the pressure applied by heavy machine and hence can run the fiber of the delicate home carpets.
Dry Carpet Cleaning – This latest carpet cleaning technology has gained popularity among people and approval from leading carpet manufacturers due to its effective cleaning performance and convenience. In this method a cleaning compound in powdered form made of biodegradable material is applied to the bottom part of the carpet using a motorized counter rotating brush machine which opens up the carpet fiber and allows the compound to settle inside and hence provides deep carpet cleaning. It is considered as the safest carpet cleaning method for any kind of carpet.
So choose the one that suits your carpet fiber by consulting with expert carpet cleaners.
