USPS Tracking service makes the tracking of our shipment packages easier. With this latest service portal, we get to know the status of our item. To track the item and know about its delivery status, all we need to do is just entering the tracking number. But sometimes the USPS Tracking Not Working problem appears.

Even though there are various internal factors that can be responsible for this error, there are some things that we need to consider as well. What are those facts anyways? Well, let's find them from the section below.

Why USPS Tracking Not Working?

Sometimes some issue creeps up from the carrier’s site such as bad weather, barcode not scanned, problems with the item and its packing etc. But also, the issue can occur from your site such as, you’re entering the wrong USPS tracking number, you have not checked USPS mail confirmation etc. But whatever the issue is, you can seek out help from the customer service center. If you have the number of the carrier, then you can call for a detail clarification of your package, and you can call USPS customer service to ask why the USPS Tracking Not Working?

Maybe the USPS tracking is not updating or working due to these reasons:

  1. The barcode of the item has not been scanned at the intermediary stops
  2. Your carrier has not scanned the barcode yet
  3. Due to bad weather condition, the delivery package has been delayed
  4. You are trying to track the package with a wrong tracking number

To make sure you are accessing the correct tracking number, do the following:

  1. Check out the tracking number from the post office shipping receipt
  2. If you are trying to access from USPS.com, check out the mail confirmation message
  3. While you were trying to track your package, you might have received a confirmation mail, check that out.
  4. Check out the bottom peel-off portion from the tracking label
  5. If you are still not sure about the tracking status, call USPS customer service portal.

Internation Shipments

The USPS First-Class International shipments take maximum 8 weeks to deliver at its desired location. But they do not take it that long. They usually deliver that before that time. That is the reason why you should wait at least for 6 weeks before calling the customer service.

Sometimes it may also take some more times to reach the delivery address or to be handed to your local service portal. But if you try to track the international package, you are not going to get any trace as there are not USPS First-Class Mail International packages tracking available.

If you find a shipping related number then it is the custom ID. The ID is used by UPS within the US until your item reaches the port. Once the package is handed to the local carrier, it occasionally reveals your custom ID. in some cases, it does not happen.

The best way to resolve the USPS Tracking Not Working issue is to call the USPS customer support number, nevertheless.
