Georgia ? A Perfect Destination forTourists from All Walks Of Life

The Republic of Georgia is a rather small country in Eurasia, situated at the crossroads of Eastern Europe & Western Asia. Bounded to the west by the Black Sea, Georgia is, without any doubt, a country of rare beauty & it has a wide variety of amazing places and scenery to offer the visitors. From the peaks of the GraetCaucasus mountains to wine fields in Kakheti and Gareja‘s rolling semi-deserts, the stony Black Sea coastline to Imereti’s lush inland forests, there’s a slew of activities in Georgia that suit just about every taste. Add to this a vivid history of kingdoms & conquest, a brutal but vital Soviet past and a progressive arts and food scene, Georgia might just be the perfect destination for keen tourists from all walks of life.

However, your tour of Georgia won’t be completed without adding these below listed places into your itinerary.

Tbilisi:

If you are a history lover, this has to be on the top of your Georgia tour itinerary. The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi reflects a long, complex history, with periods under Russian and Persian rule. Its varied architecture features ornate art nouveau buildings, Eastern Orthodox churches, and Soviet Modernist structures which are worth exploring.

It may be at a crossroads (both symbolically and geographically), but that does not mean Tbilisi is struggling with its identity. The culture, the religion, the foods, the vernacular architecture & the very way of life here’s all deeply Georgian. If you’ve no idea what that means, you will have a great time finding out. From Bangkok-style food markets to Parisian-style boulevards, Tbilisi offers an enthralling blend of East & West.

Kazbegi:
Just 3 hours north of Tbilisi, mount Kazbegi, third highest peak at Great Caucasus mountain range, has long been a renowned high-altitude retreat. If you are time bounded, it is the ideal place to get a taste of Georgia’s incredible mountain backdrop without staying too far from the city. Gergeti Trinity Church – perched over Kazbegi at 2,000 meters above sea level – is a must-see. The Georgian mythological hero - Amirani (connected with Greek Prometheus) due to the legend was chained to the slopes of mount Kaybegi.

Batumi:
Batumi, Georgia’s Black Sea resort town & the capital of the Adjara region, is commonly known as a Mecca for gamblers & sun worshippers. Much more flamboyantcompared to other parts of the nation, it isn’t for everyone; but Batumi has its own fascinating charm.

Borjomi:
While Borjomi may still be best recognized as the source of mineral water - the city of today has plenty more to provide than just its sulphuric, volcanic springs. For one, the setting is beautiful, with the town plugged precisely between the borders of the Borjomi Gorge. Then there are the elegant faces of Russian imposing architecture, painted in attractive yellows and grassy lawns of the city park.

If could be worth to write about two destinations:

1.Village Ushguli (2.400 m altitude, UNESCO world heritage list) in Svaneti region of Georgia. Well known for unique architect with towers of XIV-XV cc and is considered as an highest permanently populated place of Europe. You can write about this place better than me.

2.Cave city Vardzia (XI c) – the most attractive rock hewn town in south-west Georgia. In XI-XII century this cave town was able to accommodate up to 50.000 inhabitants. In the caves visitors can find wine storages, apotheke, church with amazing wall-pantings and royal hall.

Conclusion:
Unique culture, ancient history and jaw dropping sceneries of nature make a tour of Georgia really interesting & unforgettable. The next time you are planning a tour to Georgia, don’t forget to add these above mentioned places and make your trip a lifetime memory.
