New Year Celebrations for your Family

Who’s ready for a new year? We sure are! The following Seattle-area events are designed to let families celebrate the start of 2019 together. But first greet you family with some happy new year wishes 2019 and then plan a tour with your family.
Kids Discovery Museum (KiDiMu)
Enjoy special activities leading up to a balloon drop at noon. 10 am to 1 pm. Included with admission. 301 Ravine Lane NE, Bainbridge Island.
Seattle Children’s Museum
Ring in the new year as it happens in time zones around the world, celebrating a different country every hour starting at 11 am with representative crafts or activities. 10 am to 6 pm. Included with admission. 305 Harrison St., Seattle Center.
Hands On Children’s Museum
Bring the whole family for a countdown to the new year with an Australia theme. Create and animate kangaroos, koalas and giant bugs, watch Dr. Science set ice on fire and freeze Vegemite with liquid nitrogen, and more. 10 am to 5 pm. Included with admission. 414 Jefferson St. NE, Olympia.
Imagine Children’s Museum
Wear your PJ’s to this evening party for families that features live entertainment, art activities, games, and a 9 pm ball drop. Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase. 7 to 9 pm. 1502 Wall St., Everett.
First Night Tacoma
This Alcohol-free celebration features live entertainment on five stages, kicked off by the World’s Shortest Parade at 6 pm. A kids’ tent is open fro 5:30 to 8:30 pm offering crafts and games. Your event button also gets you free admission to area museums and free skate rental at Polar Plaza. 6 pm to midnight. Free for ages 10 and younger. Downtown Tacoma.
Moisture Festival New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. Ideal for families with older kids who want a fancier evening, this event features variety show performances, appetizers, balloons dropping at midnight, and dancing. 8 pm. $$$. Hale’s Palladium, Seattle (Fremont).
