Top five T20I scores in Australia

India vs Australia is one of the fiercest clashes in cricket. There have been many interesting matches between the two teams. In the matches played between India and Australia on Australian soil, here are the five highest scores in the shortest format.


The top five highest scores include Shane Watson 124 not out at Sydney in the year 2016. In

the 3rd T20I against India on 31 January 2016, at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Shane Watson made his 50 off 37 balls. Australia notched up 197/5 in their 20 overs. But India won the match by 7 wickets on the last ball and with it the series 3-0. Shane Watson is the only batsman to have scored a century in IND vs AUS T20Is in Australian soil.

Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli scored 90 not out at Adelaide in the first T20I match on 26 January 2016. He made an unbeaten knock of 90 off just 55 balls. India scored 188/3 in their 20 overs. In the end, India won the match by 37 runs. Man of the match was Virat Kohli who also took two catches.


Aaron Finch scored 74 runs in the second match of the T20I series on Melbourne Cricket Ground on 29 January 2016. Aussies were chasing the target of 185 runs. Captain Aaron Finch just off 48 balls, hit two sixes and eight boundaries. But unfortunately, he was run out in the 16th over and the Aussies lost the match by 27 runs and India took the lead in three-match series by 2-0.

Matthew Wade grabs the opportunity given by the selectors in the 1st T20I on 1 February 2012 in Sydney. Wade made 72 runs. He opened with David Warner and he reached his fifty off 32 balls. Warner made 72 runs off 48 deliveries. Australia scored171/4 in their 20 overs. India lost the match by 31 runs and Australia took the lead in the two-match series by 1-0.

Indian Cricket Team Vice-Captain Rohit Sharma in the 2nd T20I at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 29 January 2016, made 60 runs. He reached his fifty off 37 balls. He added 97 runs with Shikhar Dhawan and 46 runs with Virat Kohli before his run out. India won the match by 27 runs.
