How to buy comfortable leggings?

Posted by Amos Fred on November 21st, 2018

Leggings and “yoga pants” have shot up in popularity over the years to the point that many women now wear them for everyday activities such as shopping and running errands. They certainly are not limited to working out anymore. Hey, they are incredible comfortable and can be worn with a lot of different types of clothing. If you are in the market for new Vuori leggings, one of the most popular types, here is a buying guide to keep in mind before making your purchases.

1. Set a Budget

Since leggings have risen sharply in popularity, they are available at many different price points. You will probably want to grab a few pairs, and may want to get a premium high-quality brand such as Vuori leggings and some just to work out in. So, be sure to get a budget based on how many you want.

2. Understand Lengths and Body Type

Body type is going to greatly determine the length you need and are comfortable with. Shorter leggings are better for warmer weather, while longer will keep you warmer during the cold months. You’ll find four basic types of legging lengths: knee-length, ankle-length, capri-length and stirrup-length.

Ankle- and stirrup-length leggings, for example, are good choices with high-heeled shoes. Knee- and capri-length will show off your lower legs, and generally fit taller women better. Shorter women who wear them tend to appear even shorter, because the leggings can stop around mid-calf.

3. Color and Type Options

Generally, darker leggings go better with just about any body type. Popular ones are black, brown, tan and dark gray. Vuori leggings are going to come with dark options with a simple design. However, you can find leggings with endless colors, patterns and designs. These can included zipped, cropped, paneled split, glossy and much more. Consider what you will wear with them. Many women choose plain leggings with minimal design so they can pair a top with more design and colors.

4. Material

There are several types of material to choose from, such as cotton, wool, synthetic and more. Leggings designed for working out will be breathable and not hold sweat. Stitching is also important. You don’t want a type of stitching that will rub against your skin. Find leggings that are not lined to avoid this. If you want to wear them out and about, make sure they are thick material that you cannot see-through.

5. Use a Size Chart

You will find a lot of legging types that do not use a traditional small, medium, large, extra-large sizing system. So, you may want to ask a sales associate or consult a size chart. When trying on a pair, make sure to walk, sit and squat in them. Basically, if you intend to work out in them, you want a pair that you can move in and still be comfortable. Also make sure one area does not get over-stretched. You don’t want to have to constant adjust them while working out.
