Plan

As a network engineer, I did understood the necessity of planning for any project.  The iterations provided me the chance to outline and provide the basis of the designing a reliable and easily administered network that meets the requirements of the organization. The planning phase of my internship program was subdivided into sections to provide a basis for the easy implementation of the actions.

The primary part was the undertaking of organization pre-visit that is making a visit before the official reporting day. The second segment of the phase got me through the introduction to the entire organization staff and a core understanding of company locations. Thirdly, I visited the operational department and human resource department for the understanding of the company functioning policies, procedures, and principles. The fourth segment of the plan was the development of the scheme of describing the major activities I will get involved in the internship program.

Upon the making visit to the defined departments, we hold the meeting that got through the outlining of the company network engineer roles and responsibilities (Best, 2006). The entire internship program was prepared to take the duration of approximately 12 weeks. According to the activities that wait to get involved, I managed to conduct the earlier actions that include the operations of this planning phase. The actions were undertaken faster so as to allocate more time to critical activities of designing the network and taking the network administration and management.

This process provides the mechanism of outlining all possible uncertainties that may get the plan of the project affected. For the better fitness within the organization operations, I had to create relationships with the staffing and the management executives so as they can easily give me direction. This was my first secret to getting to gather much from the company.

Action

The planning phase of the network designing and administration project was outlined through the undertaking of activities that were carried out sequentially. I did undertake a pre-visit to the company by visiting the company three days to the official day of reporting. I went with the company under the guidance of the hospitality company team. The representative showed me the location of the different organization department. This was a preparation for the introduction that was awaiting me to the respective department staff. I did mark the location and direction. On reporting day, some days after the pre-visit I went to administration after which I got directed to the human resource department training section that gave me the form of accepting the internship offer under the designated rules and regulations. Immediately I got to the IT department where the head manager introduced to me the supervisor.

That marked the journey of moving around the organization to have the view of the department’s locations and designs as I get to familiarize myself to the other working mates. The process was under the guide of the supervisor who was dedicated to serving me entirely. The process was conducted for some view hours of the appropriate staff.  I went around on my own to make friends who will be helpful in developing the network.

The following day we held a meeting with the It department, operational department and human resource department representatives. During the meeting, I was given the chance to express myself by accounting on myself and the chance I had been provided within the company.  The representatives got me through the understanding f the company operational procedures, policies, and principles. Alongside that, they also defined to my roles and responsibilities during the period. They gave me two days to prepare a plan for the entire project as they provided the company project plan template to follow (Iskander, 2007).

Observation

The pre-visit I made to the business was critical for my entire preparations of working within the enterprise. I was at easy to move around the company, and this reduced the time of familiarizing within the department locations and the organization staffing. My reporting to the business was like the beginning of the new life that got me interacts with many friendly and educated people who take no pride and disgrace to others. The organization staff was welcoming as they all accepted my request of working with them and making future inquiries.

The familiarization process was enticing, and it provided me the courage to move ahead with my project. The orientation process was extended to the meeting that was held in the It department boardroom. I get to outline the organization of the company; the meeting was made official, and the interaction during the meeting was exciting. I appreciated the way the entire company staff took me as an important creature in the company who was to provide the chance. Upon my analysis, I outlined the benefits of implementing well and good governance within an enterprise (Niewulis & Tom, 2010).

I learned on the representative insist on understanding the policies and procedures of the business alongside the rules and regulations. They emphasized that I was to undertake my duties within the required time and according to the defined procedures as they referred to the big booklet that described the business governance policies and procedures. The project plan template I was offered was beneficial as it got me develop the plan easy and within the time.

Reflection

Ignorance has no defense at all times and further it is expensive. I had no idea of the company structure and location, and this forced me to make a pre-visit to the organization before the official reporting day. I have to say that the idea was beneficial in two distinctive ways; I was able to master the location and directions within the company that reduced the time I took during my orientation. Secondly, as a network engineer l had to have an early examination of the business location and topology to start developed the logical mind of how the network will get designed and laid within the business (Scheid, 2010).

The meeting was productive since I managed to gather a lot of information regarding governance, leadership, and management (4imprint, 2010). The meeting was conducted according to the standards that things were outlined openly for easy understanding. The meeting got the whole orientation process succeed because of what I came out with (Pride, Hughes & Kapoor, 2010). The entire process provided the necessity of having mere training like the one I had in the meeting.

The success of any project takes to depend on the plan outlined. The plan is critical to the determination of the activities that were supposed to take place. The plan I developed took the style of the company which had simplified the template. I outlined the activities and the appropriate budget and set out the no-go to defining the requirements for the network. Since the plan was at home, I had to proceed with implement the project by defining the requirements of the project that is the company network.
