Apart from these you may also find fishes like barracuda, jacks, kingfish, sierra, tripletail, cubera, grouper, jewfish, wahoo, also the intermittent Atlantic sailfish and blue marlin.

If you are visiting Costa Rica then always remember to bring your fishing gear. Fishing in the adjacent backwaters of Costa Rica and tidal ponds is fantastic, particular during the summers when the temperature is hit and less humid. From September through November Río Colorado region is the best for fresh water angling. Some say that the best time for doing tarpon fishing in Costa Rica is from March to June and from October through November.
