Are you with the Right Recruitment Consultant?

As an experienced Candidate, you will know that there are many recruitment consultancies available in the market. However, with each being different as per their experience, niche, and style. It is indispensable for Job seekers to find the right consultant for themselves. 

In this article, we are going to discuss the critical question or tips which will help the Job Seekers to find the right Recruitment Consultants. 

Is the consultant expert on recruiting in the area in which the Candidate is working? 

Before choosing the consultant, try to scratch him/her to learn their understanding about the area they are recruiting because if they don't understand the field, they are not credible to represent you to the potential employers. 

Make Sure your consultant has a significant and demonstrable amount of experience on recruitment for your area or at least backed by a strong team with similar experience. 

Do not go for a consultant who has a generalist attitude toward recruitment, for example, someone who was working for Traders in the past, Marketers in the present and the lawyers in the future.  

Presence on the Target Territories 

If a candidate is considering moving to a different country for a job, it is crucial to have a local presence so that one can advise the Job Seekers beyond Work front such as culture, Housing, taxes, etc. 

It provides the candidate a complete understanding of whether they are the right fit for the role or not. 

 Are you working with a whole agency or with a single consultant? 

A right Consultant always focuses on finding the right job for the candidate. 

Good Recruiters always introduce the candidate to the fellow Experts within their organization because good recruitment firms are still happy to collaborate on skills, expertise or experience so that they can produce a wide range of great opportunities for the candidates. 

Extension to this it brings us to the next Question  

Which type of Commission are they working? 

If the incentive is individual-based, then it pushes the consultant to oversell the positions or try to place the candidates within their contacts. 

Also, take time and find the Recruitment firm who incentivizes their recruiters to work on the long-term benefits of the candidate. In such structure, Consultant focuses on the long-haul development of candidate instead of placing the candidate and move on. 

The consultants will push themselves to find positions which will best suit the candidate's profile for a long-term. 

Do not go with the recruitment firm who force you to work with them exclusively. If they are a good recruitment firm, with their unmatched services, they make the candidate feel not to go anywhere.
