The faith of Hinduism is strewn with the existence of numerous gods and goddesses. A quick insight into the religious beliefs that foster amongst people of the different regions of India will corroborate this fact. Commonly it is said that Hinduism is a culmination of 33 crores of gods and goddesses. It has been believed that the ultimate divine is a single force that comes in various forms and versions who are worshipped by the followers of the faith.

As per the mythology, the holy trinity of the Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver) and Mahesh (the destroyer of all that is evil) forms the crux of the faith. Going a little further it has been stated that Lord Vishnu being the preserve of the creation had to take many forms (ten to be precise) in different ages to free this world from the clutches of different types of evil forces. Out of the ten avatars (or Dashavatar), the eight avatars was that of Lord Krishna.

Birth – The birth of Lord Krishna is a tale of wonder and divine magic. It seems that the entire creation was in a single rhythm so that the great master could make his advent on this earth so that the beginning of the end of the evil forces could be commensurate. It is a popular tale that tells how the prison guards fell to a magical slumber and then Devaki gave birth to his eighth son who was taken to Vrindavan by his father, Vasudeva. The towering serpent Vasuki acting as the umbrella of the great master from the falling torrents of rain suggested that the king of all kings have arrived finally.

Childhood – The tales of Krishna’s childhood marks the loving nurture provided to him by his caring mother Yashoda, the several antics that Krishna had with his friends and the different demons that he had vanquished all sent by Kansa. The vanquishing and final death of Kansa at the hands of Krishna marks the advent of his youth.

Romance – A very important element of his youth was Krishna’s popularity with the young gopis of Vrindavana and his relationship with Radha. This is a tale of romance and companionship that is sung till date.

Mahabharata – The epic war of Mahabharata as opined by many would have never taken place had it not been for Lord Krishna. He had designed the entire fall of events and the way the Pandavas and the Kauravas clashed in the war of retrieval of the good from the evil.

Final Rule – Soon after Mahabharata Krishna ruled the kingdom of the Yadavas. However, this rule was never discussed in details and elaboration as it is said that his people were doomed and cursed for an unfortunate end by Gandhari.

Lord Krishna images are a popular item is bound to be found in Hindu households. They could be used for the purpose of worship and pujas. These images are also a popular choice for calendars, wall pictures and other paintings done o different backgrounds. Krishna is much more than a All India god Images; he is a cult figure that signifies devotion, wisdom, faith, fortune and good times.
