Virat Kohli is the key to India?s chances of Winning World Cup 2019

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir recently called off his career in cricket. He is one of the India's finest opening batsmen and was a star player for India. Gambhir played two match-winning innings in 2007 World Cup and 2011 World Cup.

Gautam Gambhir announced his retirement from all forms of cricket and will play for the last time as a professional in the Ranji Trophy Round 5 game between Delhi and Andhra at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is not so far from now. The schedule for the World Cup 2019 is already out and the first match will be on May 30. Team India is focused to win the World Cup 2019.

Gautam Gambhir on the eve of his retirement game said, “I admire his (Virat Kohli) batting, the way he is scoring runs. He is the key to India’s chances in the World Cup. He is a fantastic batsman,”.

Gambhir feels that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be key to team India’s chances in the World Cup 2019. Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir both belong to Delhi and they played in state domestic cricket together.

During NKP Salve Trophy 2013-2014 which was the last tournament of Virat Kohli in domestic cricket, Gautam Gambhir played under Kohli. The two batsmen was also involved in IPL 2013 controversy when they confronted each other on the field on live television.

When Virat Kohli was out, Gautam Gambhir said something to which Virat Kohli did not take it and turned back to confront Gambhir who was the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper.

Even after the incident, the duo shares a great bond and has played numerous IPL match against each other. Gautam Gambhir also made his test comeback in 2016 under the Skipper Virat Kohli.
