Chennai Super Kings in IPL Auction 2019

IPL Auction 2019 is going to take place on December 18 in Jaipur. The three-time IPL champions and one of the most successful and popular IPL teams lead by Mahendra Singh Dhoni is looking forward to get some talented cricketers for their team.

MS Dhoni and CSK coach Stephen Fleming might buy Alex Hales, Axar Patel, Sam Curran or Heinrich Klaasen in the IPL 2019 player auction.

Chennai Super Kings Captain MS Dhoni from over the years has retained his core fixed combination. He is known for that, even when he was Indian Cricket team captain, he stuck to a fixed combination.

In the upcoming IPL Auction 2019, Dhoni and CSK can buy English Cricketer Alex Hales who has a strike-rate of 136.24 in T20Is. The 37-year old Dhoni would like to see Shane Watson flourish in the powerplay just like he did in the last season.

India’s Axar Patel could be a perfect back-up for Ravindra Jadeja. The 24-year-old Axar Patel has picked up 92 wickets in 101 T20Is and has a strike-rate of 131.71. Ravindra Jadeja will be the part of CSK but Dhoni might pick up left-arm spinner.

English Cricketer Sam Curran who plays for Surrey and England has troubled the Indians during the recent series in England. CSK has all-rounder Dwayne Bravo but Dhoni will need a back-up and most probably pick Sam Curran who has a strike-rate of 118.90 in T20s and has picked 42 wickets. Another player that CSK may pick is South African cricketer Heinrich Klaasen.

CSK has only one wicket-keeper MS Dhoni and franchise may look for an option even though Dhoni is the strongest player of the team. Heinrich Klaasen has a T20 strike-rate of 141.16 and has scored 1183 runs in 62 games.
