For all online Virginia and Maryland Distance Learning Continuing Education (C.E.) courses, the final exam score must be at least 70 percent to pass the course and the student must achieve at least a 90 percent score on quizzes to progress. Please note, the Maryland Real Estate Commission requires a score of at least 70 percent in the final exam although the RE campus/’Dearborn software is designed to only require a passing grade of 65 percent in the final exam by default, in order to receive continuing education credit. A number of retake quizzes and final exam can be conducted until the requisite scores are achieved to pass the course.

There will be a bookmark function allowing the online student to return to where the student previously left off and online course need not be completed in one go. Review finals and quizzes/tests may not be bookmarked, and may not be returned to by the student. The instructors turn the typical classroom lecture setting into a comfortable, fun and interactive learning environment. The delivery is engaging striving to help the students better prepare themselves for the Real Estate Industry and to grasp with a deeper comprehension.

Specific course guidelines

The student will have to finish the exam once he has started taking it and the final exams must be taken in one sitting. The system will reboot and you may be required to retake the final exam if there is no activity for an extended period of time during your exam. The student will have a deadline of one year from the start date of the Md Real Estate Continuing Education course to complete the course. If the student fails in the final exam unable to pass within the deadline, no credit may be awarded to the student. There is no refund of fee for any course once a student has completed more than the introduction to the course. If the student fails initially to achieve a passing score in the final examination then there is provision for a retake of the exam. The course for continuing education credit a student must successfully pass the examination within thirty calendar days from the time the first final exam appeared by the student.

The procedure followed in clearing the final exam

The online course will inform you on the Study Plan page that you have completed the course if you achieve the required passing score on the final exam and report your final exam score to the school. The school will contact the student via the email address registered on the Dearborn site. Before the school may issue a certificate of completion, an affidavit must be returned to the school given in the congratulatory email.

Affidavits required

Before the course completion credits are reported the signed affidavits must be submitted to the school. VA affidavits must be notarized and sample copies can be seen for future guidance and reference.
