Criptext: Secure Email Encryption for AllPosted by Rose Molly on December 31st, 2018 After Facebook’s shocking news about users’ data being collected without any consent to be castoff for official campaigns, people across the nation are looking for mediums of communication that are much more secure. Currently, Criptext, is the most secure, private, and an independent company, to be announced as a new email service, caring about user’s privacy. Unlike others email sharing platforms , Criptext do not stores any data in its servers, as the data is stored in user’s device, using the Signal Protocol library for end to end email encryption, and promising data security, control and privacy to the email communications. The best part is that the user stays in control of all the data shared through the platform at all times. It’s the first time, we have an email service built exclusively for user’s data privacy. But why is Criptext so special? Well, with abundance of security packed features, Criptext doesn’t allow collection of user’s data in its server. Instead, all the information is stored in user’s device. What’s more? Criptext makes use of Signal Protocol library which is open source for encrypting the emails from end to end. The signal protocol library makes use of non-federated end-to-end data encryption, commonly used for voice, instant messaging and video calls applications. The protocol is absolutely open source and developed by Open Whisper Systems to be used in TextSecure Application. A lot of tech giants took advantage of the Signal Protocol like WhatsApp, and more. The protocol practices Triple Diffie-Hellman (3D) Handshake and Double Ratchet Algorithm, along with the Curve25519, AES-256 and SHA256 for the popular methods for data encryption on the device. At this moment, Criptext offers features like:
