The children of Philippine are living on the street because they don?t have a family or seriously affected by poverty. Most of the children are victims of poverty and the result is drug addiction, sexual abuse, alcoholism and violence. Basically they are neglected and deprived of all the basic needs. We found that the majority of street children in Philippines had staked out the most beautiful and busy areas of the country. Generally begging and selling small items are there main occupation. Working along the street you often approached by bare footed, wearing torn cloths children asking for money or food. You may also see a mother holding out malnourished baby. Besides children who are living on the street is being appointed for hard labor activities such as loading heavy things and brick breaking. Pornography is another sector where the children are engaging more and more. Statistics says that there were at least 250 thousand street children in Philippine. There are three kinds of Filipino street children. Children on the street: About 75% make up the figure of ?children on the street?. Though they work on the street but they don?t live on the street. This kind of street children continues to attend school while working for long shift. Children of the street: About 25% - 30% make up the figure of ?children of the street?. They usually work on the street and make their home on the street as well. They often develop a family tie with their fellow. Completely abandoned children: About 5% - 10% make up their figure of children ?completely abandoned?. They are entirely abandoned by their family. They have to depend upon themselves for both physical and mental support. Most of the children can not tell when their street life began even their parents? name. It is as they had born into street and it is the only important part of their life. Many children are abandoned and engaged in begging or working against the law. The government has taken steps against child labor and advising people to stop this inhumanity. The children are deprived of everything they want. We have to help them. Depressed from their needs they are encountering crime and violence. When children of well families enjoy their life, street children are suffering from hunger and cloth shortage. In the holiday especially in Christmas street children are forced to beg while singing Christmas carols, where children of a good family enjoy most by gatherings themselves, make a tour and enjoy delicious food. Instead of begging the street children often committed pick pocketing, bag snatching etc especially in divisoria, binondo and quiapo districts. Child prostitution is another shocking result of street children. A variety of different factors contribute to the commercial utilization of children in the Philippines. According to 1996 statistics 60000 of children are prostitute in Philippine. The children are helpless, they need help.
