Newborns usually do not like to be naked, because when they are deprived of their clothes, they feel unprotected. Premature babies are the most demanding. That is why many of them start crying when they are undressed.

There are no universal rules or advice regarding the newborn baby girl clothes. It depends more on personal tastes and local fashions. However, some practical considerations can be taken into account.

So that clothes can be put on and removed easily, it is advisable to choose garments that open fully in front or behind. It is also advisable to avoid those garments that release hair or have small ornaments that can be detached and reach the mouth or nose of the baby.

It is advisable to use garments made of natural fibers (cotton) which absorb moisture and do not produce irritations or allergies.

Clothing should be broad and light to allow freedom of movement. However, underwear, such as t-shirts and cotton bodysuits, should not be too loose.

Jerseys, jackets, tights, socks or bootis and full-length pajamas complete the necessary equipment to dress the baby.

How to dress newborn babies without hurting them?

The baby's head is not round but oval. Hence, to put a garment on top, first introduce the neck of the garment by the back of the head and then stretch, passing in front of the face of the baby.

To remove it, the same operation is performed but in reverse: first the collar of the garment is passed in front of the face and then it slides towards the back of the head.

To dress it by the arms, the adult introduces two fingers through the sleeve, takes the hand of the baby and stretches the sleeve along the arm, making sure that the hands of the baby are closed. Otherwise, it is easy for one of your fingers to engage with the sleeve.
