Indian Premier League which a professional Twenty20 tournament started in the year 2008. In the first season of IPL, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals qualified for the finals and Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Shane Warne defeated CSK to win the inaugural IPL title.

After the first season, Rajasthan Royals did not win any IPL seasons. The team was also suspended for two years over a match-fixing scandal that did not allow them to participate in IPL 2016 and 2017.

Also after their first win, the team did not reach the finals, though they were qualified for the playoffs three times. The current captain of the team is Ajinkya Rahane.

It will be interesting to watch the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019 and to see if they will be able to win its second IPL title or not. For the upcoming IPL season, Rajasthan Royals has bought 9 players in the IPL player auction. The team has paid the highest price to bought Jaydev Unadkat for Rs. 8.40 Crore.

The members of IPL RR Team 2019includes Captain Ajinkya Rahane, Prashant Chopra, Stuart Binny, Shreyas Gopal, Aryaman Birla, S. Midhun, Krishnappa Gowtham, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Ish Sodhi, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mahipal Lomror, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Shashank Singh, Shubham Rajane, Manan Vohra, Riyan Parag, Liam Livingstone, Ashton Turner, Oshane Thomas, Varun Aaron, and Jaydev Unadkat.
