Kevin Love believes the Cavaliers may have a “fresh start” in 2018-19.
The 30-year-old big man is set to get the focal point of Cleveland’s offense this coming year after LeBron James’ departure to Los Angeles. He discussed the new-look Cavaliers at media day Monday.
“We are going for being a team that may surprise a whole lot of people,” Love said (via Cleveland.com). “Losing the top player from the world, we're planning to have a fresh start … We have first- and second-year guys who have to generate an impact, and veteran guys who may have playoff experience under their belt."
Love signed a four-year, 0 million NBA Live Mobile Coins extension together with the Cavaliers come early july shortly after James announced he was leaving the c's and joining the Lakers.
"This is when I wanted for being,” Love said around the extension. “We won a championship here, we've had a great deal of special memories, and I needed to keep that going."
Love, a five-time All-Star, played his first six NBA seasons while using Timberwolves. He was traded to Cleveland in August 2014 when James returned towards the team following four years together with the Heat.
Love averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game over a Cavaliers team that's swept from the Warriors inside NBA Finals last season.
