Using Wii LAN Adapter to Access Internet by means of Wired Network

Posted by Thomas Shaw on January 21st, 2019

In the event you have Nintendo Wii but with only wired home network, then you can just get a Wii LAN adapter to connect your Wii to wired network and access the Internet. Get much more information about wii internet adapter

As you may see in the network diagram below, it shows the solution to connect your Wii to wired network by using Wii LAN adapter (please connect it just after turning off the wired router and Wii). Just connect the adapter’s USB cable to Wii’s USB port, then use a straight network cable to connect the adapter to wired router’s LAN port.

Also you may connect the adapter for the cable/DSL modem directly and access Internet. Please note should you be DSL connection users, a lot of DSL modems will not be compatible with this adapter (only some will), so it’s much better you connect it to router as I mentioned above. Also should you be required to key in username and password as expected by ISP so that you can connect to Internet, then the modem will not work with the adapter directly.

Ok..now we are going to set it up.. Energy up the wired router and aslo Wii. Make sure you’ve enabled DHCP setting around the router.

1) Go the Wii console's principal menu, click the Wii button in the reduce left corner. You may then come to Wii settings screen, click on Wii Settings button.

2) After that, click the correct arrow Nintendo Wii Proper Arrow to enter the second page of settings and click on Internet button.

3) Click Connection Settings, then click Connection 3 to create new connection.

4) Click on Wired Connection.

5) Ultimately click Ok and start out to accomplish automatic connection test to access Internet.
