As caffeine enters the bloodstream, there is an improvement in concentration and focus. One must remember that an overdose of caffeine can leave one jittery, anxious and stressed. 5. Increase energy levels: for a quick dose of energy and sugar, a glass of carbonated drink should do the job. Most doctors recommend a serving of fruit or handful of nuts for a more controlled release of sugar into the bloodstream, but in case of urgent need of energy, carbonated beverages work just fine. Regardless of the apparent health benefits, carbonated drinks are loaded with sugar which adversely affects the teeth and bones. Carbonated drinks are diuretic, which means that it might quench the thirst for a while but does not provide rehydration. It induces urination and expels vital nutrients from the body such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, and sodium. With the excessive consumption of carbonated drinks, comes the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease. However, as long as the consumption is in moderation, there is no need to completely give up on carbonated drinks completely. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
