What should you Keep in Mind when Renting a Boat Charter?

If you are planning to hire rent motor yacht, following are some of the points which you need to take into the consideration.

  • Read all the clauses of the contract in detail. To ignore abusive or unclear clauses thinking that nothing is going to happen, can bring us dire consequences if a mishap occurs.
  • The majority of nautical charts Greece companies agree on the general conditions of their contracts. Normally 50 percent of the rental amount is required when making the reservation and the rest is paid one month before boarding. Subsequently, the rest will be delivered, corresponding to the expenses of hiring skipper or extras, such as bedding or an outboard. Cleaning costs will also have to be met.
  • In the event that a member of the group is going to assume the role of the skipper, he must provide the company with the documentation that he has a nautical certificate that enables him to steer the selected Boat charter, taking into account the navigation program that is going to be done.
  • It is possible that the company requests the documentation of all the members of the group.
  • The person who rents the Boat charter, that is, the one who signs the rental contract with the company, is responsible for any losses and/or damage that the boat may suffer during the rental period.
  • The company must deliver the boat clean, with the fuel tank full, the day and at the time agreed in the contract. The lessee, that is, the person who rents the boat, must return it on the last day of the leased period with the full tank, and with all the elements included in the boat the day, it was delivered.
  • The cost of fuel, food, and all those not included in the rental contract will also be borne by the tenant.
  • The company can demand the payment of a deposit, to return, or the payment of insurance per day, to lost fund, to not have to face the payment of the deposit which is usually an amount. But it will depend on the ship in question. This insurance is independent of the compulsory insurance of the Yacht charter which must be at all risk and duly documented. The amount of the deposit is reimbursed the day the ship is delivered, once the employees of the company verify that everything is in order.
